Cross Country Travel Nursing Offers Freedom

Cross country travel nursing jobs off a wealth of freedom, but beware there are a few things you must know before setting out for your first adventure!
First you should keep a travel file with a copy of all your documents. Regardless of what company, agency or facility you work with these are standard requirements.
- keep copy of updated resume
- keep copy of standard application with updated work history
- copy of a skill list ( if you do for one company just keep copy for self
for future use)
-copy of most recent physical ( physicals are good for 1 year)
- copy of last PPD or chest xray (ppd is good for 1 year, if you have a
positive PPD you must have a chest xray which is good for 5 years)
- copy of titres and/or immunizations (rubella, rubeola, varicella)
- copy of your Hep B series (if u do not have, companies will always have you sign a Hep B waiver)
- and references (always need 2, so get a reference from a supervisor
every time you leave a job)
- W-4 and I-9 (if your information never changes, you can reuse)
- CEU’s (every company may have 1 or 2 different for their file but the standards are Medical Errors, AIDS/HIV, Domestic Violence, Preventing Needlestick Injury, Pain Assessment and Management, Tuberculosis, Restraints Use, Fire and Safety, Age Specific Guidelines, and Occupations Exposure to Blood Borne Pathogens) CEU’s are good for 2 years and can be easily done online.
As a cross country travel nurse there will certainly be a couple things you may need to repeat like a drug screen. But if you go in prepared you could easily be ready to work in a matter of a couple days. Keep one folder and travel the world with ease. travel nursing jobs
